Writing Fun at the Green Lake Christian Writers Retreat

Writing is not all work! Sometimes fun is involved.

March 15 – 20, four Word & Pen members and one past member gathered with nine other writers and friends at the Green Lake Conference Center’s Christian Writing Center for the annual Writers Retreat. Did we have fun? Yes! Did we get writing done. Certainly! Did we help one another during the evening worship and manuscript critique sessions? Most assuredly!

In addition, on St. Patrick’s Day, ten of us drove to Montello’s Senior Center for a corned beef and cabbage lunch (including a luscious dessert and coffee or chocolate milk). Following the delicious meal, Sally Bair (one of our Writers Retreat buddies) gave her photo talk on Alaska, the setting for two of her YA novels, Willywaw Winds and Trouble at Fish Camp.

Kathi Bloy, Kris Orkin, Deb Schauland, and Beth Ziarnik were the Word and Pen members. Deb Young is the past member who is now leading a Christian writers group in the Green Bay area.
