Word & Pen Meeting April 13

Yeah! Our April 13 meeting of Word & Pen Christian Writers is fast approaching, and trust me, you won’t want to miss out on all the inspiration and fun.

The devotional by Beth Ziarnik is titled, “Write!”

During the educational, “We All Have a Story to Tell,” member Marilyn Hein will share the highlights and some helpful pointers for writers that she picked up at the To Be Told Conference by author Dr. Dan Allender. The recent three-day conference covered:

  • The Power of Story
  • The Enemy of Story
  • Creating a Community of Story in Family, Friendships, and Church
  • Effective Trauma Care

Kathi Bloy will provide snacks; and Chris S, the bottled water. For planning purposes (snacks and handouts),  please let Chris know you will be at the meeting.

Reading a page of your writing is optional but always well-received.

If you need an idea, Chris offers this month’s writing prompt: “April is Poetry Month. Consequently, try your hand at writing a poem. If after you try it, that doesn’t work for you, write in a genre of your choosing, but do try a poem first. It does us good to stretch and try new things. Incorporate these nine words in your piece: breeze, across, dressed up, veil, thunder, yellow, Friday, scarlet, fisherman.” (Thank you, Chris!)

See you all at the meeting!
