Word & Pen Christian Writers Meeting on May 11 to Feature Author Harold Thorpe

Yes, it’s time to make plans to attend the next meeting of Word & Pen Christian Writers to be held 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on May 11 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 226 Washington St. in Menasha, WI. By the way, guests are always welcome!

Ruth Schmeckpeper will will inspire us with her writer’s devotional (title TBA).  She will also provide the evening’s snacks and bottled water.

Reading a page of your writing is optional but always well-received.

If you need an idea, Chris, our facilitator, offers this month’s writing prompt: “Since May is National Short Story month, write 500 words (two pages) about a discovery your character makes upon visiting a public place–such as a museum, hospital, police station, chapel, graveyard, or other place of your choice–while walking around its insides or grounds on a Spring day. Remember Mother’s Day and Memorial Day are coming up. Sometimes it’s handy to hook a story on a holiday.” (Thank you, Chris!)

For planning purposes (snacks and handouts),  please let Chris know you will be at the meeting. If you are not a member of Word & Pen, you can let her know by responding to this post.

See you all at the meeting!
