Word & Pen Christian Writers to Meet Monday, July 13

Word & Pen is about to gather for another great meeting! This time on Monday, July 13, and as always, at 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the hospitality room at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 226 Washington St., Menasha WI.

  • Beth Ziarnik will present, “A Walk Through Write-To-Publish 2015,” an educational sharing what she gleaned to help us hone our craft and increase our writing skills.
  • Ruth Schmeckpeper will provide refreshments to “munch while we learn.”
  • This month’s devotional will be a reading from Words to Write By in which several Word & Pen members are published.

During our “Writers Roundtable,” you are welcome to read one page of a manuscript–your own or another’s. Though, no pressure–this is optional.

If you need help to prepare that one page, Chris offers this suggestion: “Write a ‘blessing note’ to send by snail mail. A ‘blessing note’ is a note of appreciation to honor someone you know but seldom express how much you appreciate them. You pick who–your spouse, one of your children, your mailman, your pastor, your neighbor, or newsboy, your mom/dad/aunt/cousin, etc. If you want to do more than one, feel free. You’ll bless someone’s life and put a smile on someone’s face when they get your ‘real letter’ by snail mail.” Great idea, Chris!

As always, visitors are welcome. If you would like to come, please reply to this message. It will help us prepare refreshments and handouts.

See you Monday night!
